Flight out of Tucson was delayed. We were delayed getting into Phoenix. Flight from Phoenix was delayed. Got to Ohio early. Huh. Airport was completely full but planes only half full. Huh again. At least we got a bite to eat on the plane, albeit mediocre. Merry Christmas.
When we finally got to Grove City we drove through the old part of the town to look at the lights. They were pretty but somewhat underwhelming. I wonder if the memory of the lights is always better than the real thing. Like meeting your hero or James Bond's first drink of the day.
We had Christmas dinner at Mom's and we probably managed to negate the last two weeks of sensible eating. It's also the first Christmas without Jerre. Feels a bit like the first Christmas without Dad. Not bad, just... different. Smaller. Quieter.
Post-dinner I set up Mother's new Chromecast. Pretty great little device, that. Or, as Mother class it, "Another thing I'll forget how to use." We'll see.
Tomorrow is a visit to an old family friend I haven't seen in some time and Adri hasn't met yet. Should be fun. Oh, and Donatos pizza. Can't get Donatos in Arizona. Heck, can't even get White Castle beyond the frozen stuff at Walmart and... I have standards.
We're beat from traveling. Time for some much needed rest.
Edit: oh, and here's the Christmas full moon as seen from Ohio.
